Happy Friday!
Do your students get bored during Library Center time? I know my kiddos do. Early in the year, they have been exposed to a limited amount of text. They are still learning those basic sight words so finding books just right for them can be challenging. This activity is something my kids really enjoy. I place these Word Hunt papers in the Library Center. Before they read their book they are allowed to go on a Word Hunt to look for the given words. Each time they find a word they make a tally mark (can you say integrated math?!?!) This allows each student to preview the text before reading and to identify known words in the story.
I am offering this activity FREE! I've included a blackline page that is blank so you can customize this activity to your own sight words. I hope you find it helpful! Click here to download.
